I'm a professional photographer and make a lot of my own prints. I own what is probably considered an antique among photo printers--an Epson Photo Stylus 2200, but I LOVE that printer. It's fantastic. Unfortunately, like all printers, they drink ink. But I've never ever been disappointed with the quality of either Epson papers or Epson inks. The 2200 has 7 colors and they're around $12-15 per cartridge and I find that kind of expensive but they do tend to last. The colors that go first are light magenta and light cyan--I think magenta probably comes next.I have written many photo books and I'm very involved in the photo industry. I have owned Canon, Apple and Epson printers and, to be fair, I've been happy with all of them (some of Canon's printers are fabulous). Though I think some of the Epson printers were poorly designed, my 2200 is a work of art and these inks are worth the price. I wish the price would suddenly decrease, but that's a wish that probably won't come true.I long to own a huge Epson printer but I'd have to mortgage my life to ink it, never mind buying it! Shoot and print lots of photos, you don't always get a second chance to record the best moments of your life.I own a Epson Stylus Photo 2200 and finished the original ink cartridges that came with the printer. I was shopping online for replacement and initially thought I could save some money by using compatible ink cartridges. I tried so with cartridges from [...] Though I order all 7 cartridges, I tried replacing only the Lt. Magenta one first since I still had a little ink in the originals to play with.Initial print outs were ok, however, when I was trying to put the printed photo into a particular tight photo frame, the photo was smeared and magenta related colour came off.I tried with various photos and long drying time but still encountered the same problem. Had to return the cartridges, but I must say [...] had great return service. Perhaps I'll switch my company inkjets to them since we don't print photos. The bottom line is this: If you have a Stylus Photo 2200, go with the original Epson ink cartridges if you value the print outs. Save those "compatible" type cartridges for non-photo printing (which you shouldn't be using the 2200 to do in the first place) or for photos that aren't very important and you don't mind smearing if touched.I own an Epson 2200 Photo Stylus printer and had not used it in almost a year. When I turned it on and ran a ink jet test it showed several inks were low or not printing and cleaning the print head did not help. I had all the inks that needed replacing except the Cyan and tried to find one locally at both the office store chains and also Fry's and Micro Center only to find they no longer stock inks for this printer because it is a few years old.So I turned to Amazon and ordered it and when installed I ran a few more cleaning cycles and the printer is working fine which says a lot not only about Epson printers but also using Epson branded ink cartridges. On an older Epson printer I once tried the after market inks and the printer head got all messed up.At first I saw that the item was tagged with "Prime" but when I selected the color of the ink, it was not eligible for quick shipping. I don't like the bait and switch tactic. Then when I tried to switch to fast shipping, the charges would have been $60 extra...which seems a bit steep for three cartridges that would have fit in the $5 priority box. So it took a week to get this order.I tried to save some money by buying generic brands, they all offer 100% guarantee, guess what? AFter trying few different generic brand I found they ALL SUCK. They don't work, they plug my print heads, I ended up wasting more time, paper and ink that I save money.Sadly, now I buy the official ink. It cost lot more but they work on my machine. The minus 2 stars is for the crazy, over-priced product. An exact fit and cartridge replacement for my Epson Stylus Photo 2200 printer. Sadly, all these cartridges are overpriced - but that's more a function of the supplier (Epson) than the vendor. I have to say that this vendor had a very competitive price and the manufacture date on this cartridge was current (other vendors in the past have sent me expired ones).I have appreciated the quality of the Epson ink cartridges which do what they are supposed to do--they supply the ink to my photo printer. This cartridge and the others I've ordered from Amazon have never clogged my printer and last at least as long as any other refillable cartridge I've ordered for any other printer. This is a quality product that has a decent amount of ink, and can be relied upon to work as it should without problems.Like the ol' saying goes... "got milk?" When you're out... you're out! Yes I pay the big bucks and get the genuine one, but the printer I am using (2200) makes remarkable prints and I have found that off brand carts, thou work, do not give the same color results. When you make a living in photography, you wanna have predictability. That's what I get from these Epson carts.hard to come by ink for a really old printer!have returned these without stars I thinke i have said enough. If you want more than what i feel is necessary then i will never revue again. thank you and angry
